About Us
Female Owned & Roasted
After 15 years of experience in the craft coffee world, the owners of Ascend Coffee Roasters where ready to create something truly special for North County San Diego. Our goal is to create a space for our community. A space to work and play, to create and to unwind. A space to socialize and also curl up next to a warm firepit with a good book. Ascend is a home away from home, a remote office away from all the distractions, a study spot off campus, and a middle ground for a meet up with friends.
In 2021 our vision broadened into a local coffee roasting company. Our goal was to perfect the art of medium and dark roasts, learning how to achieve a full city roast without burning any coffee beans. We started sourcing coffee from around the world that was ethically grown and made sure to practice fair business trading with farmers.
We opened our café in January 2023 with a modern twist in mind.
Our coffee house is located at 1080 W San Marcos Blvd in San Marcos, Ca. Formerly known as Old California Coffee House we rebranded this historic hang out to modernize the look, feel and offerings. We added a bakery with pastries, made in house. We also wanted to offer more than just coffee and pastries. Our food menu is a nod to our Southern California roots with breakfast burritos, tacos, artisan toasts, and acai bowls. Lunch is also covered with our new Pesto Chicken Burrito or homemade Falafel.

Espresso
Blended to perfection with a smooth body yet satisfying bite. Notes of dark chocolate, citrus and walnut.
Loloru
Single Origin from New Guinea and organic. This dark roast offers bold flavor and is our roasters favorite roast. Notes of chocolate, brown sugar, and nut.
Agaro
Light roast with fruity notes and balanced flavors. Single Origin from Ethiopia, this incredible roast has even converted some dark roast lovers to the light side. Notes of blueberry, red wine, and white peach
